Rehearsal Rooms

LOCAL 47 REHEARSAL ROOM POLICY

Please be advised that a new policy regarding rehearsal room use will be implemented as of Sept. 15, 2007 by order of Local 47's officers and Executive Board. As of that date the designated leader of a rehearsal will be given a Musician Sign-In Sheet prior to the start of their rehearsal. The names of all rehearsing musicians, including vocalists, must be listed on the Musician Sign-In Sheet. It will be the sole responsibility of the leader to make sure that this form is filled out completely and remit the Sign-In Sheet to an employee of the Member Services Department at the conclusion of the rehearsal.

It is the standing policy that all musicians rehearsing on Local 47's premises must be members in good standing (full, youth, Life or Inactive Life members) of Professional Musicians, Local 47 and/or another AFM Local at the time of the rehearsal. Membership status will be checked by Local 47's rehearsal room staff upon receipt of the Musician Sign-In Sheet.

Failure to fill out and return the Musician Sign-in Sheet at the conclusion of any rehearsal may result in disciplinary action, up to and including the revocation of all rehearsal room privileges. Intentionally rehearsing with a non-union musician, including singers who are non-AFM members, in Local 47's rehearsal room facilities also may result in disciplinary action, up to and including the revocation of all rehearsal room privileges.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING UPDATE:
The penalties for not following the Rehearsal Room Rules & Regulations are as follows: First penalty will be a one-month suspension of using the Rehearsal Room Facilities, the second penalty will be a three-month suspension, and the third penalty will be a six-month suspension of Rehearsal Room privileges. If there are any subsequent violations the member will be permanently barred from using the Rehearsal Rooms. A vocalist must now also be a member of the AFM in order to use our facilities.

Please Note: Every musician of your group rehearsing or using Local 47 facilities must be an AFM Full, Youth, Life or Inactive Life Member in good standing. If you have any questions about this new policy or need assistance, please feel free to contact Amie Moore for more information at (323) 993-3157.
