| Local 47 is the
first and only AFM local to provide union members with a professional
recording studio, the 32-track digital Studio 47. We are proud to
be marking our 100th year of service with this state-of-the-art facility
of superior quality. Studio 47 reflects Local 47's ongoing commitment
to helping members increase income and employment opportunities by
ensuring the Studio be reasonably priced alternative to commercial
studios, requiring only that all musicians on the session date be
members in good standing of the AFM. Studio 47 can record anything
from a soloist to an 80-piece orchestra, and has been booked for jingles,
film and video soundtracks, cast albums, commercial recordings and
demos. Studio 47 also hosts UCLA and USC's film scoring class and
offers a special program for high school bands, giving them a firsthand
look at Local 47 and its services. |
| Studio 47 is
a one-stop production resource, offering final mixing, digital mastering
and duplication at reasonable rates. Digital recording has a distinct
advantage over older technologies in its complete lack of tape noise
(which you'll find in even the most professional analog tape recorders).
The Studio's crystal clear quality of sound reproduction and its amazing
acoustics contribute to this state-of-the-art facility. |

Video 47, a
permanent part of Studio 47, has proved to be a very popular with
musicians who wish to self-produce their video demos to complement
their audio recording. The Showcase Video is an invitation offered
twice a year at a special low cost rate to members who wish to compliment
their promotional packets with a music video. Video 47 offers single
to multi-camera recording and editing for various types of projects,
from live shoots to music videos, at rates far below commercial
video facilities.
